GACCRRA Job Description For Executive Director 

Supervised by:  Board President

Hours:  Full Time – 40 hours/week

Location:  Atlanta

SUMMARY:

The Executive Director will be hired by and report to the Georgia Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Network Board of Directors. 

This position will be responsible for assisting Georgia CCR&R agencies in expanding and enhancing the quality of their services to Georgia children, families, and child care professionals. The Executive Director will identify resources and coordinate services designed to strengthen the Georgia CCR&R system and perform other duties consistent with the operation and development of a statewide network of CCR&R activities, as directed by the Gaccrra Board of Directors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Gaccrra President or Executive Committee may assign other duties.

Administer and direct the operations of Gaccrra including, but not limited to:

Implementing all policies and procedures; hiring and supervising staff; negotiating and securing contracts with program funders, consultants, and others; conducting financial and legal transactions; and completing financial and program reports as required.

Participate in and provide staff support for long range planning for the Gaccrra Network.

Develop and implement strategies for ongoing funding and support of Gaccrra and its programs to assist Georgia CCR&Rs and enhance the early child care delivery system in Georgia.

Assist in organizing and facilitating a communication system for the Network in Georgia through regularly scheduled meetings and written communication.

Promote private and public support for the Georgia CCR&R system.

Oversee the completion of programs and activities required of Gaccrra, as indicated in its contracts, grants, or other agreements with program funders. Ensure that sub-contractors meet the standards of their contracts.

Act as a liaison with the Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, other state agencies, key constituent groups, statewide advocacy organizations, and legislature and program funders as directed by the Board.

Promote the mission and goals of Gaccrra through a variety of marketing and public relations strategies. 

Organize and provide staff support for meetings of the Gaccrra Board of Directors, its committees, work groups, and other groups in order to conduct the business of the organization.

Facilitate an array of training, technical assistance, and consultation services for local CCR&Rs and their staff and child care professionals in Georgia.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s degree in human services, child and family studies or related field (Masters degree preferred); and a minimum of three years experience in administrative/management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·        Demonstrated communication skills, oral and written.

·        Demonstrated organizational skills.

·        Background in research and assessment.

·        Thorough knowledge of current child care issues and delivery systems.

·        Ability to work well with the public and private sector.

·        Experience in child care resource and referral preferred.

·        Experience in financial management, program management and supervision.

·        Experience in program development and fundraising preferred.

·        Experience and/or familiarity working with legislative/advocacy bodies.

·        Experience in working with a non-profit Board of Directors.
